Receipt Camera® is a self-service photo booth system developed by Brief Company. It instantly turns each photo into a black-and-white print shaped like a receipt. There is no ink or film to manage; you only replace the paper, which keeps consumables simple. With a single unit, a store or event venue can run an unattended photo-and-print service.
- Printing: Thermal black-and-white printing, with no ink, film or ribbon required.
- Consumables: In day-to-day operation, you replace a roll of receipt paper or label sticker paper.
- Operation: Self-service. Guests take their own photos and collect their prints.
- Lineup: The PRO line (PRO, PRO BUILT-IN, PRO WALL-MOUNT) uses receipt paper, the PRO+ line (PRO+, PRO+ HYBRID) uses label sticker paper, and MINI is the smallest and most affordable model.
How it works
A guest starts a session on the touchscreen, and the photo taken with the built-in camera prints within seconds. Guests do not need to install an app or create an account.
Receipt Camera® prints with the same thermal method as a standard POS receipt printer. The print head applies heat to thermal paper to form the image, so no ink cartridge or ribbon is needed.
- Receipt paper: Photos print on 79mm-wide paper. A 1:1 photo prints at 72×72mm, and one 79×80 roll produces about 1,000 1:1 photos.
- Label sticker paper: A 62mm-wide adhesive paper. One roll prints up to 450 photos.
Typical venues
Receipt Camera® can be set up anywhere with a power outlet, and its power adapter is free-voltage (100–240V). Typical venues include:
- Cafes and bakeries
- Restaurants and bars
- Photo studios
- Retail stores and showrooms
- Exhibition spaces and galleries
- Pop-up stores and brand events
- Weddings, birthday parties and corporate events
Its wood housing lets the unit sit on a counter or display shelf and blend naturally into the interior.
Key features
The defining feature is the print itself, which takes the shape of a receipt. It is a different kind of keepsake from a standard photo print or a photo strip, and that format gives guests a reason to photograph their print and share it.
On the operations side, the main advantages are:
- Consumables: It runs on thermal paper alone, with no ink or film, so consumable costs stay low.
- Unattended operation: Guests handle everything from shooting to printing themselves, so no dedicated photographer is needed.
- Screen and print customization: Add your logo and text to the top and bottom of each print, together with a QR code that links to your venue’s social media or booking page. The capture screen design can be changed as well.
- Wood housing: The PRO line and PRO+ come in four wood colors: Walnut, Oak, Maple and Cherry. PRO+ HYBRID has a two-tone finish with different colors on the front and sides, and you can combine the four colors in any pairing you like. MINI uses a birch plywood body in Camel.
Product lineup
Every Receipt Camera® model prints in black and white with a thermal printer. The lineup spans the PRO line, the PRO+ line and MINI, and you can narrow it down to the model that fits your space by paper type and installation style.
PRO line: receipt paper
- PRO: The core model, placed on a counter or table. A good fit for cafe, restaurant and pop-up store counters.
- PRO BUILT-IN: An integrated model set into a cut-out in a partition wall, like a framed picture. Choose it for a fixed installation in a permanent space.
- PRO WALL-MOUNT: A model that attaches to a wall surface. Suited to tight spaces, waiting areas and corridors.
The PRO line comes standard with an 8-inch tablet and four capture modes: ONE, MORE, FRAME and GRID.
PRO+ line: label sticker paper
- PRO+: It prints on adhesive label sticker paper, so guests can stick their prints wherever they like: a notebook, a phone case, a bag.
- PRO+ HYBRID: Label sticker printing comes as standard. Add the optional receipt-printing system, and you can choose the print type that suits your purpose.
The PRO+ line comes standard with an 11-inch tablet and four capture modes: ONE, MORE, FRAME and GRID.
MINI: the smallest and most affordable model
MINI is the smallest and most affordable model in the Receipt Camera® lineup. Its landscape body (W300 × H220 × D220mm), made from oil-stained birch plywood, holds a tablet and a 203dpi receipt printer, and it prints on receipt paper.
MINI focuses on ONE mode. With 13 portrait and landscape capture ratios, that single capture mode still delivers a wide range of compositions. It also supports images and text above and below the photo, as well as a customizable capture screen. It offers everything needed for daily operation with a modest initial investment, which makes it well suited to stores opening their first photo booth, narrow counters and short-term events.
